BCN World Race

Sailing races can be for dinghy sailing or for Keelboats. Dinghy sailing racing is typically done on a route marked by buoys, usually in the form of Olympic triangle. Keelboats usually do regattas port to port. When the path crosses different seas and oceans, the race is called Ocean Race or transoceanic. The most popular races are American Cup, Mini Transat 6.50, Volvo Ocean Race, Vendée Globe, Audi MedCup and Barcelona World Race.

Barcelona World Race is the largest regatta. It starts and finishes in the port of Barcelona. This is a race around the world nonstop for 2 crewmembers which is hold every four years.  The first Edition was in 2007/2008 the second was on 2010/2011. The next Edition will start in 2014.

Anna Corbella and Dee Caffari, my favourite sailors
Anna Corbella and  Dee Caffari are the first women that sail around the world without scales or assistance after almost 103 days of navigation, in the Barcelona World Race.
In addition, Corbella, (34 years old) has been the first Spanish woman that won The Minitransat 650 (in solitary).
Dee Caffari, (37 years old) is the first woman who completes four round-the-world trips: She did two in solitarily, once in team, and the last one with Anna in Barcelona World Race.
